Google Analytics
GA4 Shows You What Happened. Lucky Orange Shows You Why.
Popular
Google Analytics 4 is excellent at measuring what visitors do at scale — traffic, conversions, funnel drop-off, audience behavior over time. What it can't show you is the moment a real visitor hesitated on your pricing page, clicked an element that wasn't a link, or rage-clicked through a checkout step that wasn't working.
That's the gap Lucky Orange fills. Connect the two tools and you get the full picture: GA4's quantitative measurement plus Lucky Orange's behavioral layer — heatmaps, session recordings, surveys, and on-site chat — working together in the same workflow.

What the Integration Does
The Lucky Orange + Google Analytics integration is a two-way event bridge. Data flows in both directions, and each direction solves a different problem.
GA events into Lucky Orange: When you enable "Intercept Google Analytics Events," Lucky Orange automatically picks up any event already firing through the Google Analytics JavaScript API on your site — including category, label, action, and value metadata. Those events become available inside Lucky Orange immediately, without any additional setup. You can then use them to filter session recordings, segment heatmap data, and trigger surveys.
Lucky Orange events into GA4: Enable "Send Lucky Orange Events to Google Analytics" and select which Lucky Orange behavioral events you want passed into GA4 — rage clicks, form abandonment, survey completions, chat interactions, custom events. Those events appear in GA4 alongside your existing events under the same name you gave them in Lucky Orange, where you can use them in audience segments, conversion goals, and custom reports.
What You Can Do With the Integration
Filter session recordings by GA4 events
Once GA events are flowing into Lucky Orange, you can filter your session recordings to show only the sessions where a specific event fired. Want to watch every session where someone triggered your GA4 "add_to_cart" event but didn't complete a purchase? Filter to those sessions directly. Want to see how visitors who triggered your "lead_form_view" event actually interacted with that form? Same approach.
This turns your existing GA4 event tracking into a behavioral research tool — without touching any additional code.
Send behavioral events into GA4 audiences and goals
Behavioral signals like rage clicks, form abandonment, and survey completions are high-intent indicators that GA4 doesn't capture natively. When you pass them from Lucky Orange into GA4, they become first-class data points you can act on: build audiences of visitors who rage-clicked your checkout button, mark a survey completion as a conversion goal, or segment your GA4 reports by visitors who abandoned a specific form.
For teams already doing their reporting and audience building in GA4, this means Lucky Orange behavioral data shows up where your workflow already lives — no separate dashboard to check.
Enrich heatmaps and recordings with behavioral context
When GA events flow into Lucky Orange, they become available as filters across the entire platform — not just recordings. Filter your heatmaps to show click patterns only for visitors who completed a specific GA event. Isolate form analytics to sessions that included a particular interaction. The more GA events you have set up, the more precisely you can segment Lucky Orange data to answer specific questions.
Two Minutes to Connect
If Google Analytics is already installed on your site, Lucky Orange detects it automatically when you enable the integration. No additional tracking code, no API credentials to enter.
Step 1: In Lucky Orange, go to Settings → Integrations and click the Google Analytics card.
Step 2: Click the Connect toggle. Lucky Orange detects your existing GA installation automatically.
Step 3: Configure your two sync settings:
Turn on Intercept Google Analytics Events to pull GA events into Lucky Orange
Turn on Send Lucky Orange Events to Google Analytics and select which Lucky Orange events you want passed into GA4
That's it. Events start flowing immediately in both directions.
A note on timing: GA4 updates its event data every 4–8 hours, so Lucky Orange events you've sent to GA4 may not appear immediately in your GA4 Events report. Lucky Orange data always updates in real time. The GA4 Realtime Report also only shows the last 30 minutes of data, so it won't reflect the full event volume — check the standard Events report instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install anything extra to connect Lucky Orange and GA4?
No. If Google Analytics is already installed on your site, Lucky Orange detects it automatically when you enable the integration. No additional tracking code or API credentials are required.
Which Lucky Orange events can I send to GA4?
Any event you've set up in Lucky Orange — system events like rage clicks and form abandonment, URL-based events, HubSpot form submission events, and any custom events you've configured through the API. You choose which ones to pass through from the integration settings.
Why does my Lucky Orange data look different from GA4?
GA4 updates its data every 4–8 hours. Lucky Orange updates in real time. Because of this lag, event counts may differ between the two platforms at any given moment. They'll reconcile over time as GA4 processes its data.
Where do Lucky Orange events appear in GA4?
Under Reports → Engagement → Events. Lucky Orange events appear alongside all your other GA4 events using the same name you gave them in Lucky Orange. To make them easy to identify, use a consistent naming convention — a prefix like "lo_" works well.
Can I use Lucky Orange behavioral events in GA4 audience segments?
Yes. Once Lucky Orange events are flowing into GA4, they're available in Audience Builder just like any other GA4 event. You can build segments based on rage clicks, form abandonment, survey completions, or any other Lucky Orange event you've passed through.
Does the Lucky Orange Google Analytics integration cost extra?
No. This integration is free with a Lucky Orange subscription.
